New ReviewerJust recently my Ubereats account earned enough points to reach the mythical top diamond level of perks. The promise was once that height was reached after wantonly spending a whopping ($7500) on food take out for a period of six months that it would yield double points with every subsequent dollar thrown at it.
Promises, promises, promises.
Well as it turns out, the double points dont count towards your next level points. Meaning after another six months if you dont spend as much as the required $7500 you will be kicked back to 0 status.
Boy did they have me going. I literally thought this scheme was really about rewarding loyal customers by only requiring them to spend half as much in the mandated six months period to keep their hard earned status. That would have really been a great idea to only budget out $3750 for six months to continue receiving great perks after two years working towards reaching that diamond status.
But no my friends.
That oasis in the desert was only a mirage. You can only hope to have that status for six months and then its back down to 0 status unless you fork over another $7500 instead of $3750 with double points. So the double points earned on that level dont really help except maybe get you a few extra $5 bonuses here and there.
At any rate if anyone else has any thoughts on this somewhat disappointing Ubereats scheme please do contribute. Peace.
